Christmas in Chicago with Joe

6 December 2007 One Comment

My husband and I are heading to Chicago today to visit friends. We’ll stay two days in the city..Love to shop at Nordstrom’s..eat out and enjoy a great hotel…

I’m not taking my computer..with the threat of divorce if I consider working on my blog, email or anything which remotely looks like work.. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and drop the work stuff and enjoy the life you picked. Get it? Sometimes you must make your spouse and family understand they are the reason you exist. Work is the means to a better time together. So from Today, after I turn off this computer, to next Wednesday I’m retired from all obligations except, to enjoy my husband and our friends.

Do you think I can do that….? I hope so..I’ll let you know when I return, that is, how well I did.

My best,

Dorothy from grammology

P.S.  While on vacation dear friends will be guest posting, please check back to see what our friends have to say.

  1. Have a great time! I hope you don’t go into blog/internet withdrawal! LOL!

  2. I hope you guys have a great time!!!! You need some down time and time away! You know how my dad is!!! Plus, he’s just not into the computer thing, so he probably doesn’t really understand! I’m really looking forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy some time together in Chicago!!!

  3. I did love every moment in Chicago, however, I’m also glad to be back home. I’ll write a new post, catch up and collapse. Thanks for the support while I was off the computer…

    I’M BACK…….

  4. I hope you have a great time in Chi town!

  5. Patty, it’s my favorite city. I like it better then New York. However, I prefer going when it’s warmer. The wind and cold, impaired my shopping..imagine that.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting..

  6. Robin, Chicago is the perfect place to clear you mind, and prevent a meltdown. And it worked. I’m recharged and ready to go.

    See you Saturday..

    Love me

  7. That is hard to do. I tried to back away slowly from my laptop when we vacationed this fall…I couldn’t not check e-mail. My downfall.

Hope you have a wonderful trip & good times with friends!

  8. We did, and I didn’t check my grammology site or email…I did check email for my day job. I missed grammology but not my day job…go figure..its time to retire real estate….soon..I hope.. Chicago is my favorite city and we love our friends, have known them for years. It’s always terrific..I even played pinochle and hadn’t played in 40 years.. Some things came back…I’ll do it again…thanks for the comments
