My son Daniel would have been 34 today. He was 17 when he died, October 4, 1991. I’ve been thinking about Danny for the last few weeks… Wondering what he would have been doing with his life. He loved life, and would have enjoyed every moment he could.

The other day my Mom told me she had dropped off the Advent Calendar to my nephew, her grandson, Quinn. She said it very matter-of-factly. It was then that I knew this would happen every year of Quinnie’s entire life, perhaps until he is a man.
My own son, Miles, has a lifetime of memories with Grandma. Every year at Christmas, Grandma’s table has photos of him on Santa’s lap – this was a yearly mecca with her. He’s 21 now but those Santa images are still there – Miles sitting …

The best thing I ever did for myself was purchase the Lucinda Basset tapes on anxiety and depression recovery. It sounds petty and they were expensive, but they have changed my life. I still take medication regularly and I am thankful for it, but the tools I have learned from the tapes have made the days that used to be bad better by teaching me skills. I describe it like this… picture yourself in a pit where you are smothered and surrounded by darkness. In my case, anxiety causes me …
