While reading and commenting on blogs today I came across Joy Unexpected a usually cute and funny blogger.
She was writing about her faith and belief in God.
Please read http://www.joyunexpected .com/ and her post, seeking where she shares her desire to feel God all the time, not when we need him.
I found the post wonderful and perfect for my day. My grandson Gary heads back to California to redeploy to Iraq on July 22. This has made our family sad and concerned again for Gary’s safety. I’m asking all my friends and readers to pray for his safe return. He will be there for seven months. Let’s all try to remember all the soldiers who are in that country. Recognizing most not wanting to be there; and few understanding why they are fighting a war which seems to have no end.
All believers, at some time or another wonder what their true faith is. With Gary going back to Iraq your first thought is to ask God why. Similar to when my 17 year old son was killed in an automobile crash over 16 years ago; of course, I wanted to blame God. For that reason I wouldn’t speak to him for almost 2 years. Since then I’ve been able to put things in a special place and recognize when things are hardest we should pray. It never makes a child’s death alright; however, it does take you through it.
Today I pray for Gary and wish to share my readers with Joy Unexpected. Hope you click over and give her some new readership. And send your blessings to someone you think could use them today. A smile, prayer, and good words can make a bad day a great one; and you’ll feel great as well….
Pray for Gary, and please keep stopping by. I need you.
My best,
Dorothy
You’ve got mine.
Teeni thanks so much our family is in an uproar over this. Prayer is what we will rely on now to get us by these times.
