I love getaways that allow us time to reconnect. Even for family vacations we try to do something where there is time for all of us to reconnect rather than an on-the-go type of vacation, like taking the kids to DisneyLand. There is something about a long car ride that makes us pour out things that we didn't even realize were waiting to be spoken. Glad you had such a nice time. Maybe a card that tells exactly how grateful we feel will communicate the feeling to the person concerned. There are certain things that people take for granted and when they give it to someone else they become surprised at the overwhelming response of that person. The important thing is that we conveyed our feeling of gratitude to the person concerned. Thanks for the post. God bless you always. Recently, one of my blog friend's sons gave his parents a trip (Cruise to Alaska)---and they were so excited since they could never have afforded that trip themselves. SO--you are right! IF someone in your family NEEDS a 'getaway trip'--then give it to them. All of us need to get away from our everyday life at times. So far, George and I have been able to travel quite a bit --but there are still many places where we'd love to go. Maybe someday!!!! ha Talking in the car while traveling is important.
