Joe’s surgery and a new grandson all in one day

6 October 2009 20 Comments

get wellMy husband had hip replacement today and his daughter had their second baby…

Joe had hip replacement surgery today and his daughter (my step daughter) had their second baby a beautiful boy 8 lbs 9 ounces he looks like he’s already three months old   therefore I’ll be catching up on the blog sometime this weekend thus please forgive me for not being able to post or comment as I’m balancing a full schedule for the next few days.  The good news is Joe did really well and if he continues will probably go to a rehab center on Friday and Nancy did wonderful I saw the baby tonight and he is beautiful mom and dad are proud parents of a beautiful baby girl and now a very handsome son.  I have so much to say with everything going on with Letterman, John and Kate etc I feel stressed that I can’t take time to post however, hoping Saturday and Sunday will be easier days most important God’s been good to us and all is well.

They tell me Joe will be recovering for 6 to 8 weeks and then he should be able to resume a normal life and even play tennis again the sport he missed the most I’ll keep you updated as to his progress and share pictures of the new baby in our family sometime next week.  Thanks again for your support it’s greatly appreciated  I just read a few of the newest comments and they really made me feel good, you guys are the best I’m so blessed to have you as friends I’ll be back soon.

Dorothy, thanks so much for the visit and lovely comment. You really do have a full plate! Congratulations on the birth and I hope that your husband will continue to do well and heal quickly. I have several neighbors who’ve had hip or knee replacements. They all say that the hip is easy to recover from – so I hope Joe finds it to be true.

Break’s over. Get back to work! It has been what? Two days? I replaced my own hip with a baby’s hip by myself underwater with a shark for a nurse and I was back writing in one day. And also I had the baby myself and I am a dude. So no more slacking.

Or forget everything I said and good luck and congrats.

But the shark thing is true…
