So Much Pain in our World Blogging can help

11 October 2009 13 Comments

i thinkSo many people have so much hurt how can we help?

I got home at 7:30 tonight and had a few minutes to visit some blogs before I started writing and I was overwhelmed with the different things I read today.  Some of the bloggers were down and out and it seemed like most of us just weren’t as strong as we usually are and I wondered is it the moon and I’m not being sarcastic as there has been plenty of information which mentions the earth and it’s gravity and proclaims that the stars in the sky can have an effect on our feelings and emotions. My faith in God has always been what’s kept me strong during the toughest times in my life and I’m convinced I’m going to heaven after my days are finished here on earth however, I also believe our emotions are somewhat impacted by the planets and where they line up in the big blue sky.  Thus while reading some of the post I felt this deep need to figure out how we can help others when they’re really down because I’ve seen and read about so many souls who are tortured by addictions whether it’s an eating disorder, drugs, alcohol and in some cases abuse they’ve lived with or through and the body may have healed however the mind and soul carry the scars forever and if planetary movements have any affect on us it seems lately many are feeling the discomfort.

Thus as I read one post after another tonight I found myself feeling blessed that we have this outlet to share our joys and journal our fears and past as none of us can live in this world alone.  We need someone and something and it’s come to me that although we’re not perfect we serve an astonishing function in this world as we band together and tell our thoughts and like magic our voices become united and we heal and help each other through the darkest loneliest times and when we feel joy or happiness  we share those emotions  maybe as a post, a poem or a prayer, a picture of a landscape or a beautiful flower and oh those photos of our children and grandchildren, where on this earth except for this wonderful blogosphere can the average Jane or Joe tell their story and be in control of what, where, and how we’ll post and blog, where else do we rein our truths and share our accomplishments and never having met so many of our friends, do they loyally come back to tell us good job or I’m praying and sending you good karma today.  Nowhere thus  ladies and gentleman thanks so much and I pray our group of commoners never let this privilege be taken away  it’s our right to bear arms our freedom of speech and press and we don’t have to be millionaires it’s free.

I am so privileged to be a part of what I perceive as one of the most significant self help groups in the world, we are just beginning to feel our abilities which often can assist and restore each other during troubled and down times just by sharing each others thoughts. At the age of 63 for the first time in my entire life I have a passion allowing me freedom of expressing myself, and I’m hoping I can do this for many years and leave a legacy of encouraging others that they can do this as well and feel emancipated and learn this gift is free for only your ability to write and share on the web with millions of us bloggers who want to know how your doing and really care about you and your life.

That’s a great post, and so very true. If I didn’t want the input of others, I would just paper journal. I assume that I, like most people, have a need to feel validated, or at the very least, just connect with a kindred spirit. My problem is, it’s tough to hold back sometimes. And for various reasons, it’s just not a good idea for me to put everything out there.

    what a lovely post.

indeed we can find an outlet to our emotions here.

and true, we can find great people here.

of course, we find ourselves, too, as we journey through words, in this beautiful place.

beautiful, truthful post dorothy! i believe that the moon, stars, and planets all have something to do with everything. from human behavior to the weather it is influenced by the astrological.

i think if our individual stories can help one person, it is worth it to post, even if it is just to give them a smile. i know through my blog hopping that i have found incredible friends, such as yourself, that have been so helpful to me. i appreciate them all.

have a great day my friend…hugz!

I agree that it is wonderful to be part of the blogosphere and to be able to share our thoughts and interact with so many people from all over the world. I love when I receive comments from people who tell me that I really made them think, and of course I follow many blogs that make me see a whole new perspective on so many different topics.

So true, Dorothy. Blogging is quite extraordinary–In Every Way! The freedom to express and share–in whatever way one needs—WOW! What a gift. For me personally, because of an extreme life-changing illness, I have been able to continue expressing myself in ALL the ways I used to out in the world, though it is certainly in another form and another “venue”….And to meet so very many wonderful people all over the world—to “bond” with them–well, it’s quite amazing….I would encourage people to start blogging, as opposed to Facebook or Twitter, because of the freedom one has to “express” in every way….Length of Posts alone,….well, it’s quite something. I have been blogging for four years and I am still amazed at what it has done for me, in every way. And if I have touched other people…Well, that’s a fabulous bonus!

I’ve always found writing to be very therapeutic, and blogging has just taken that to another level. It is wonderful to get responses and know that other people are out there cheering you on.

    hi,

It’s good that you take time to read other people’s blog and gave it a thought. I agree with you that, blog becomes the outlet for people to share their stuff. I rarely share sad stories in my blog because I am more appreciative to the beauty of this world through my lenses.

About helping people, yes i do wish i can help people but then most of them are far apart. We can always pray for them right?

P/s I noticed that your blog is more on sharing of your thoughts, which is different from mine. However, I enjoy reading them. Thanks.
