My wife and I spend so so much time fulfilling other peoples requests, wants and not wants that we overlook ourselves in order to make good. Yes, we both work, so that obviously doesn’t help. By the time we both get home we’re both frazzled and tired. Most times, with her working 9 to 5 weekends off and me with shift work, we’re like ships passing in the night. Yes, we are like millions of others, so no use complaining, hey? But at the end of the day, we are both content and happy, knowing our children have made good and are leading their lives to the full. Hoping you are content and happy as we are with your family. By the sounds of things, you are!

Such good thoughts. If we are not happy with ourselves, we cannot be happy with anyone else. Hurting people hurt people, I think is the old adage.

I agree about looking within to be happy. No one can “give” you happiness, even though I know an awful lot of people who entered relationships with that expectation. When I catch myself thinking “poor me” I get my butt in gear and decide what I need to change to snap out of it. I have too many people who love me for me to feel sorry for myself.

Happiness can be so simple. I’ve often seen video of children in very poor countries laughing and playing, unconcerned that they should have more to be happy about. They are happy because they are playing, have their friends and family, and some food to eat that day. Everyone has the right to be happy, and if they can be in their situation, shouldn’t we?
