I want to be that grandma too! I just don’t quite want to look like her with all that gray hair. Nowadays that would be the great grandma. :)

I would like to be like that but distance and assorted nonsense makes that impossible.

Great picture! I wish my kids had a grandma like that. Theirs won’t even come to see them. So sad!

  • Lisa said:

She *is* sweet looking … but definitely not what grandmas look like nowadays. Although that’s not what kids look like nowadays either! :o )

AAAUUUGGGHHH!!! That’s what I look like! Just not that sweet!

  • Grace said:

Why? I would prefer to be the Auntie Mame type Grandma…

My wife is just that type of Grandmother. In fact she may be a little over protective. But when you only have one Grandchild that will happen.

That was MY Grandma. I’m too mean to ever look that charming.

That could be my Gramma…she was so sweet and had lovely white hair. Me??….um, not so much. No white hair visible here :P

Oh My gosh, you guys crack me up, I can’t believe so many of us remember our grandma’s looking like that..and your right things have changed. Thus, I’m so happy I posted this as my next article is going reflect how my thoughts have changed, and what my personal goals are for this decade.
So, keep the ideas and opinions coming I love it sooooo much.

    My best, Dorothy

From what I’ve read here, I think you already ARE that kind of Grandmother, plus you have the coolness factor which makes you even MORE awesome!

What a comforting picture…I do NOT want to be a grandmother any time soon, thank you, I’d rather a couple of weddings first if it’s all the same to anybody! Call me old-fashioned but….

    Hi Dorothy,
Fond memories of my grandma were remembered when I saw your picture.
She had the most comfortable lap, she was a great old fashion cook (real butter, veggies cooked with meat, etc.) She could be stern but with 200% love….thanks for the memories.

Hmmm, so warm and lovely. It made me miss my grandmother who truly was grand. Always wearing her floured-covered apron, she produced magnificent meals for the extended family every Sunday. She told me once that when she died, it would all fall apart. Without her, it did.

I am sure your grandchildren love you the way you are. Its you they would want when they needed a cuddle, not anyone else, real or otherwise.
You have no need to envy anyone where they are concerned………just ask them if you don’t believe me. ha ha.

If you want to be that grandmother, don’t dye your hair, and always wear an apron. :)

    Love you,
    Charity :)
