Bonding with your kids and grandkids…watch what they watch..and have fun with Glee!

Last night as I sat making jewelry, my daughter (age 23) was playing her music…but something was different.  She was playing current hits and also 50’s music and 60’s music and 70’s music.  My kind of music!

Turns out, she was playing songs from the TV show Glee.

I’ve seen Glee win all of these awards at the Golden Globes and SAG awards but I’d never seen the television show.

Well, consider me informed, thank you to my college-aged kids.

Good old-fashioned fun, yes.  But also serious topics facing our kids such as being young and gay.

Sharing music, current topics and TV shows on our kids’ minds is an important way to stay connected, and to be a part of our kids’ lives.

So watch their shows, listen to their music— hearing their thoughts won’t be far behind.

I’ve heard people talking about Glee, but have yet to watch it. I’ll need to fix that. In the meantime, the seven-year-old and I are watching the Jetsons.

After I started trying to sing along with one of the songs that was featured in an advertisement for Glee, my wife informed me that we would NOT be watching the show–EVER! I guess I blew it.

There is one new show this season that wins all the awards in my mind and that is MODERN FAMILY. I laugh so hard it hurts. I haven’t seen GLEE but I can tell I would need to know a lot more about it for that video to appeal to me. I was totally lost. I don’t think my grandkids have mentioned it but we only have one in college right now.

Hi! So true and wasn’t I surprised to find that my son had brought the “Hotel California” CD! He never stops playing it. This now comes to mind, “What’s old is new again” – any chance of that happening to us? Not likely! – Take Care – Peter
