Carly Simon still an icon in my opinion

Carly Simon, looks so good and when I listened to her video song “Your So Vain” it brought back wonderful memories of my younger and better years, and I wondered how could she have made that record so long ago, where did the time go, and how did I get so old so quickly. And now she has a new album out “Never been gone” thus, I have to  buy it because she is still sounding wonderful, hence if you want to listen and see her before you head out to the store here’s her link http://www.carlysimon.com/   and see if you agree that she’s just as beautiful today as she was in 1972  and if your really creative you may want to enter the contest and make your own video singing her song with your version, you have until April 15 to enter, isn’t it ironic that she picked this date when our taxes are due to end her contest, you can win $10,000 and meet her in person it sounds like such fun and what’s really weird, even at 63 I think it would be so satisfying to meet and have a chance to talk with such a lovely lady who after all these years still sounds incredible.  So give her a chance, visit her blog and click on the contest to see if this is your lucky day to meet and spend time with Carly Simon, you never know unless you try.

I get a little shock every time I actually think how long it has been since high school. Over 30 years. Is that really possible?

Carly does look beautiful! One of my favorite albums in my youth was Tapestry by Carly Simon. It was a kind of signature of those days. Thanks for the great memories!

I wasn’t even born yet! I don’t know who she is but she does look good for her age.

Well this made me feel old! LOL!

At least she can still sing and looks great, unlike some singers trying to make a comeback.

It’s just very cool she’s still doing her thang!! And so are you.
And I guess that’s all we can hope. That we’re able to keep doing what we love, whatever that is.

    Cool contest. Smart.

Hi! My wife and I used to listen to this song over and over before we got married. Yes, what is old is new again. It’s a shame that saying doesn’t apply to us.

I loved Carly Simon back in the Your So Vain days. I like that she kept the mystery going about who the song was about for so long. I’m with you on wondering where the years have gone since that was a new song.

She looks great and she sounds great! Good For Her! Sounds like a fun contest.

Did you know that her sister is a composer? She wrote the music for the Broadway Production of “THE SECRET GARDEN”…It is a BEAUTIFUL Score….If you ever read that it is playing anywhere near you—Run, Don’t Walk! A very talented family…Going back to Simon & Schuster!

I have always loved that song! And yes, Carly looks as young now as she did in the 70’s. How did that happen? I need her secret formula!

  • Chris said:

I love her music too! I still have two of her records that I wish I had a record player to play them. “Anticipation” and “No Secrets” are still two of my favorite albums.
