Yesterday, two of my friends and I met at church and then had breakfast together. The mission was to pray; ask God to get me through my surgery and heal my body.
The experience was empowering. The three of us, prayed for his strength so I would have the courage to endure my future. My surgery is January 18th. Some of my family wondered if it bothered me to wait so long. No, it’s given me time to prepare. I could have little follow- up or I may have a …

Here it’s the third day of January…and I haven’t begun to think of this coming year. I usually make plans to change things in my life. Loose weight, earn more money. Plan a trip somewhere different. This year I can’t seem to make myself focus on the subject. Have you?
Maybe it’s my age it’s the normal passage where you fear time is running out. Wondering is there is anything I haven’t done that I better do? Or is it just life which seems to be filled with stress, heavy schedules. …

I can’t remember what day of the week I woke up in our new home about 135 miles away on a country road in the middle of nowhere, thinking holy crap I can’t believe this is really happening. We went from an awesome raised ranch style home to a small one bedroom duplex with no cable TV. Yeah that’s right no cable. I think it was about two or three weeks before we got a phone. Now think about this for a minute my friends didn’t even know I was …

Christmas is around the corner, and grandma’s getting ready. We’ll begin to decorate the house by emptying our bookcase shelves, packing things away and put up Christmas decorations. We do the same with the mantel on the fireplace. We make the inside of our home look like Christmas. Every year we buy a few things to save and use for next year, sometimes getting them at half price. Its fun and we have a wonderful collection of decorations we cherish and enjoy throughout the holiday season. (Photos will follow after …

I saw a segment this weekend on the continued popularity of the Walton’s. There seemed to be a mystery as to how the show continues to grow in recognition, when it’s been off the air for so long. It wasn’t any mystery to me. Family is supposed to be the heart and soul of the home. The Walton’s were both and when you watched the show you pretended your family was like them or would be when you had your own.. We admired the love and respect the family shared …
